Q: Good afternoon, we would like to line a concrete plant, specifically the inert material hoppers. In winter, the inert materials are heated in the hoppers, with heating temperatures of 200–300 degrees. Is it possible to do this?
A: The maximum long-term operating temperature for Polyceramoplast composites is +80°C. We suggest considering the option of turning off the heating of inert materials during winter if this process is controllable. In this case, it would be possible to use anti-adhesion lining, and the need for heating would be eliminated.
Q: We tried using polyethylene PE1000, I think, on hoppers. It was good for the first 2 days, then it was even worse than steel—everything stuck. What is the reason? How is your Polyceramoplast better? The problem is still unresolved.
A: You likely chose the wrong lining material. PE1000 has the drawback of quickly becoming rough. This leads to a loss of anti-adhesion properties: materials catch on the fibers and remain on the surface—and then it builds up like a snowball.
You need a lining that will self-lubricate and not develop roughness, such as Alpha-M. The effect is achieved through composite additives. Its functionality has been verified at temperatures as low as −50°C.
PE1000 can be used where there is no serious abrasive load, dry sliding is required, and the operating temperature is not lower than −10°C.
Unregulated imports of foreign materials have damaged the reputation of UHMWPE in the market. Now we have to prove otherwise. Work with professionals!
Q: Good afternoon. Is there a technology for lining chutes, hoppers, etc., with Polyceramoplast? What is the method of attachment to the supporting metal, and what are the methods for protecting seams—both corner and butt joints?
A: The attachment of lining to metal chutes and hoppers can be either through or non-destructive. The latter is used more often than drilling metal for bolts. The lining is mounted on threaded studs or welded washers; the choice of fasteners depends on the thickness of the lining and the quality of the surface. The fasteners are installed flush and covered with plugs. A technical installation card is provided upon shipment. It is possible to send a supervisor for installation.
Seams are not sealed and do not affect the performance of the lining if installed correctly. There are other, more important aspects to pay attention to.
Q: What is the procedure for setting the warranty period for products (policy)?
A: Typically, we provide a warranty for the material’s compliance with the specifications in the technical data sheet (wear resistance, tensile strength, impact toughness, etc.)—this can be considered the policy and the main aspect of the warranty.
In individual cases, we provide a warranty for the performance of the lining or product in a specific unit/mechanism (for example, a “turnkey” bucket)—for up to 1 year. The decision is made based on a completed questionnaire.
